Characterized by enveloping volumes, the Bézier Cord Outdoor seating system designs new open-air landscapes through original and unexpected configurations.
Designed by Studio MK27, the Bézier Cord Outdoor seating system reimagines the experience of outdoor living through soft, sculptural forms and a fluid, architectural language. Inspired by the parametric curves developed by mathematician Pierre Bézier—also the foundation of its indoor counterpart—this collection transforms terraces, gardens, and poolside spaces into elegant landscapes defined by comfort, movement, and visual harmony.
Each element of the Bézier Cord Outdoor system is marked by generous, enveloping volumes that echo nature’s own irregularity—creating seating compositions that flow with their environment. Sinuous lines and dynamic shapes allow the pieces to be used individually or configured together in a variety of layouts, forming open, intimate arrangements that encourage both conversation and quiet reflection. Whether styled as a single sculptural seat or a modular configuration, the system invites interaction with space in a new and expressive way.
The defining feature of the design is the painted tubular aluminium backrest, meticulously wrapped in a thick weave of polypropylene cord. This tactile weave runs lengthwise across the backrest and is finished with end plates in matching aluminium, seamlessly blending structure with artisanal texture. The cord not only reinforces the sculptural aesthetic but also ensures durability and performance in outdoor settings.
At the heart of each piece is a one-piece seat cushion, crafted with layered high-density polyurethane foams of varying thicknesses. This thoughtful composition delivers a consistent level of plush, supportive comfort across the entire surface. The seat is generous, deep, and exceptionally soft—tailored to perfection with stitching that precisely follows the organic contours of every curve. This attention to detail enhances the natural fluidity of the form, while maintaining the refined standard of Minotti’s outdoor craftsmanship.
Recessed stainless-steel feet in a rich dark brown finish subtly lift the seating elements off the ground, reinforcing the sense of lightness while ensuring practical separation from outdoor surfaces. The result is a seating system that balances sculptural form with technical performance, offering both aesthetic refinement and everyday resilience.
